Maintaining a Spotless Bathroom

Are you one of those people who loves a perfectly clean, smelling fresh bathroom all day? Or are you the type who can use a public toilet without any problem.

Chances are most people want the first one for their homes, especially those who need to stay clean for small kids crawling all around the house.

Many times, cleaning the bathroom is a big chore. You must give at least half to an hour of work to restore its former glory but ain't nobody got that for that!

For those who need the hacks on maintaining a clean bathroom, here is our list:

1.Empty the trash bin daily. While most people regularly clean counter tops, tubs and toilet bowls, they sometimes forget one crucial area. You should empty trash bins every day. As much as we want to clean, the container can make everything smelly. Whether it has pieces of napkins or plastic wraps, make it a habit to dispose of those litters. Make sure to put on a garbage bag and some papers at the bottom of the bin to get every moisture possible.

2.Hang towels to dry. Keeping a damp cloth inside any room is a big mistake. There will be bacteria build up on wet or moist areas. Put used towels on the drier or air hang them outside. Mom trained us to hang towels under the sun every use, and it's like having freshly laundered towel every bath.

3.Disinfect regularly. Now, this part is easy. You can buy a good disinfectant at your local groceries. Every toilet use, spray some on the toilet bowl or if you are on a budget, try using lemon with water. Some even use vinegar or vodka. In a liter of water add 100 ml of any of this liquid and yup, works like magic every time.

4. Wipe off after every shower. This may not be for everyone, but if your family can cooperate, you'll be surprised about the benefit you can get. The last person to use the shower should rinse the surrounding area of soap build-ups. Then wipe clean the area with water droplets with a dry paper towel or cloth. In this way, the wall and floor will keep its shine longer. Anyone will be impressed with how dry and spotless your bathroom will be. Coating the walls with water repellent every six months will also make the cleaning easier.

5.Mind the drainage and curtains.Check drains of clogging like hair, soap suds, or any piece of paper and plastic that may wash along. Soapsuds together with lotion or oils during baths can leave residue on the drain pipe. We suggest once or twice a month cleaning with vinegar and baking soda. This will help in unclogging and of course, will leave the drain of foul smells.

Another area that needs your constant attention is the curtains, in the shower and drapes around the bathroom as decor. Make sure to clean once a month or change the curtains to glass walls around the shower area. If you can, try to remodel you’re curtains into glass walls, it will make the room bigger and fancier. Glass is also easier to maintain, wipe it with dry cloth or towels every use.
